Vortex Engineering recently hosted two groups of aspiring engineers from two Local High Schools.
These Students take part in an educational program offered through their schools and are aspiring to jobs in manufacturing. The tour of Vortex Engineering was offered as part of the Careers in Manufacturing tour series sponsored by the East County Economic Development Council (eastcountyedc.org).
The seventy students represented two local San Diego High Schools (Grossmont and West Hills) participating in Center for Technical Education (CTE) programs with a curriculum designed to aid interested students on a path to a potential job in manufacturing.
The tour covered current projects and a hands on demonstration of non-destructive testing methods on welding test samples.
Following the tours, the group met for lunch at Cuyamaca College’s Student Center, for a panel discussion about jobs in manufacturing companies like Vortex.
